With the recession taking hold and the announcement of delays to the Government’s ’Building Schools for the Future’ scheme, the public sector are having to source more creative and affordable solutions to gain that much needed extra space – and everyone wants to know how!
As the construction of the striking new sports hall in Streatham comes to an end, Dunraven Secondary School’s desire for sustainable and innovative space has become big news with a host of television companies and newspapers arriving on site to cover the story.
To see the Container City system in action or to hear the reactions of teachers , students and other users watch ’Inside Out’ on BBC 1 on Wednesday 18th Feb at 7.30pm.

Taking only 3 days to crane in and 3 months total build time, Dunraven Secondary School’s new sports hall is very nearly ready for use and everyone involved is very excited.
Developers Urban Space Management with architects Scabal used re–used shipping containers to create a sustainable, yet practical space that contains a full size basketball court, 2 changing rooms, viewing galleries and an innovative heating system.
We are delighted with the new Sports Hall which not only shows Dunraven’s commitment to sustainability but also provides the school with a bright and colourful space that reflects the students that will benefit so greatly from its construction
