This major refurbishment project was funded by a £5 million lottery award to client and operator, The Malvern Winter Gardens Trust.

The Elgar Hall, named after the composer who lived in Malvern, is the main auditorium to which a new balcony structure was added. In the theatre a new fly tower was constructed.

The main alteration works were in the centre of the building, creating a large open foyer and restaurant. This part of the building was completely demolished and rebuilt using reinforced block, reinforced concrete and glass to create a stunning new entrance.
