Gloucester Place Regeneration Scheme, London
Residential
Client: The Portman Estate
Architect: Sheppard Robson
Furness Partnership were instructed by The Portman Estate to provide Structural Engineering consultancy on a complex multi million pound refurbishment project of 15 Grade II listed Georgian town houses at Gloucester Place in Central London.
The buildings were unoccupied for several years and were in an advanced state of decay. All the buildings required extensive structural condition surveys and intrusive investigation works to be carried out, to enable an accurate tender package for the restoration works to be assembled.
Detailed repair and strengthening drawings were an essential part of the structural scheme in order to maintain the areas of special architectural and historic interest.
