Furness Partnership worked with the contractor in particular on the design of the timber SIPs system which was used on this structure to provide roof diaphragm action.

 

The SIP system is an innovative and versatile construction method that uses insulated structural panels for the construction of the primary and secondary building elements. The panel’s excellent thermal performance and low air leakage combined with its ease of construction and little site wastage makes for a very efficient and environmentally friendly construction system.
