This project involved the redevelopment of the existing Acton Town Hall and Baths. Part of the Town Hall was retained and refurbished including the original theatre which is now a library. The Town Hall’s iconic frontage and the baths chimney, listed Grade II, were also restored.
The new build consisted of a 25m 8 lane competition swimming pool, a separate learner pool with a moveable floor, 100 station state of the art gym, 2 dance studios, 2 multi purpose rooms and associated changing and staff facilities.
The superstructure was a 3 storey steel frame construction with exposed steel trusses over the main pool. The main pool hall trusses were designed to resemble those of the original swimming baths.
